{"id":5940,"date":"2019-08-27T08:53:50","date_gmt":"2019-08-27T06:53:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/travelbucket.co.za\/?p=5940"},"modified":"2019-08-27T09:30:26","modified_gmt":"2019-08-27T07:30:26","slug":"the-camping-list","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/travelbucket.co.za\/the-camping-list\/","title":{"rendered":"THE CAMPING LIST"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Self-drive travellers have different camping options, because nowadays there are so many gadgets and equipment available in the outdoor shops that it is sometimes hard to choose the right one. \u00a0\u00a0One can easily get entrapped in all the available stuff so my advice will be take your time to think things over and make a proper list of what your habits are and what you like and dislike in the department of convenience.\u00a0 It is the privilege of every camper to set up camp as he likes it \u2013 no rules apply \u2013 however there are some basics that needs consideration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/travelbucket.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/DSCN1613-logo-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5948\" srcset=\"http:\/\/travelbucket.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/DSCN1613-logo-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/travelbucket.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/DSCN1613-logo-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/travelbucket.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/DSCN1613-logo-768x576.jpg 768w, http:\/\/travelbucket.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/DSCN1613-logo-980x735.jpg 980w, http:\/\/travelbucket.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/DSCN1613-logo-600x450.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>According to me some of the must haves will include the following items<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Setting up camp<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>A tent with built-in ground sheet and mosquito netted windows <\/li><li>Hammer for those tent pegs<\/li><li>Stretcher or inflatable\/foam mattress<\/li><li>Bedding (i.e. sleeping bag or duvet and pillow)<\/li><li>Folding table and chairs<\/li><li>Dustpan and brush<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Preparing food and coo<\/em>king<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Braai equipment like a grid\nand triangle to place on the fire<\/li><li>A cast iron black pot and\nkettle to use over the fire<\/li><li>A gas cylinder and cooker head<\/li><li>Tinfoil comes in handy to cook\ndishes over an open fire<\/li><li>Some Ziploc bags\/container to\nstore leftover food in<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>S<em>ome external hardware to make life easy<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>220 V electrical cord as all the camping spots are not equipped with electricity<\/li><li>External storage device to store all those pictures on<\/li><li>A universal plug<\/li><li>Battery chargers <\/li><li>Inverter (optional for us)<\/li><li>A Swiss army knife or Leatherman <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Our camping list is much more comprehensive than the above as we have tailor made it to our requirements and have figured out over the years of off-road travelling what works well for us and what are items that we have never or seldom used.&nbsp;
