FUEL YOUR TRIP WITH H20

Like we plan on how and where we would refuel and fill the jerrycans with the necessary fuel to keep our vehicles going, we have done the same with our water. When traveling in deep dark Africa, or even just in a remote location in our own country, it cannot be stressed enough that you should have a decent supply of water. When taking an over landing trip, we will typically have about 50L of water with us at any given time. When doing a day trip or going for a hike, we would mostly take about 5L of water at least. BATHROOM NIGHTMARES

This is one place you cannot avoid on a camping trip.  When you have to go you have to go, but it can be a pleasant or a horrific experience. We came up with a routine that works for us when we are camping, but yet again this is something that you more or less have to work out what is your family’s needs. 5 EASY TO FOLLOW RULES FOR SOLO FEMALE TRIPPERS

Solo travelling may not be for everyone, unless you like your own company and enjoy everything by your own-some lone-some and do not want to consider anybody else.  If this describes you – go for it! PART 2: KEEP CALM AND TRAVEL SOUTH AFRICA

This is a following up on a previous post about travelling South Africa and some basic tips on what to do and expect. Money and the ATM   Plastic money (ie credit and debit cards) is widely accepted.  However, make sure you have some cash on you for tipping parking attendants, etc.  Do not you stuff your wallet with a wad of notes where everyone can see it.  Just keep a small amount in your wallet where it is visible to the public.  Keep the wad stashed at another secret place.  This also ensure that you have money left if things turn out for the worst! SEEKING SOLITUDE

If you look on a map you will see that Botswana is dotted with many salt pans, but early morning on Deception pan is a magical place.  It is cold (if you visit during winter) and it is quiet.  It is time to reflect on life while you wait for the sun to show its face on the horizon, but soon you will be taking off your jersey and enjoy life under the Botswana sun.
