WHO DID WE MEET AT THE KNYSNA LITERARY FESTIVAL?

So, who DID we meet? We met well-known Australian (or is it New Zealand? 😊) author Tony Park. And what a nice guy he is! The Knysna Literary Festival, hosted by Pam Golding, celebrated its 10th year in 2019. Although living around the corner from Knysna I never even knew this festival existed. So, what do you learn? That you are never too old to discover new things. Sounds a bit like travelling to me; you keep on discovering new things. The two lovely ladies of the Travelbucket team was invited to the event where Tony was speaking at the Knysna Turbine Boutique Hotel and Spa on Thesen Island in Knysna. COMPETITION TIME WITH NUTRISTART

It is that time of the year again where you start a new chapter in your life, start a new year, start a new school or start a new career. In our case we will be starting a new journey or two. TOURING ONE OF THE BIGGEST PROTEA FARMS

by Inge Triegaardt In July 2018 I managed to grab a few friends and sort of forced them to be my team for an Amazing Race to raise funds for a 13-year old girl who is attending the South African Indoor Cricket Championships later this year. We managed to win the Amazing Race and our first prize was a breakfast at Oudebosch Farmstall and a Protea Tour at one of the largest Protea farms in the world. Now, being South African and loving the outdoors, I have a natural love for our national flower and always believed that it is one of the prettiest flowers I have ever seen. TRAVELBUCKET MEETS TRAVELSTART @ ECMEETUP 2018

It was that time of the year where bloggers from across the Eastern Cape get together to share ideas, exchange business cards, meet the newbies on the block and share experiences. For the Travelbucket team it was time to travel again, to experience the Eastern Cape and to visit a new venue that has not been visited before – another tick off our list……..it was time for the #ECMeetUp. We’ve been blogging under the radar for a few years now, but we could never understand why our following would not pick up. For the month’s leading up to the ECMeetUp, we would follow and keep a close eye on the event on social media. #ECMEETUP 2018 – THE EVENT TO ATTEND

It was time to get out of our comfort zone and right into a very active blogging community in the Eastern Cape of South Africa and attend the EC Meet Up. We have finally attended our very first #ECMeetUp and what an experience it has been! The end of May and beginning of June was such a busy time for us and because of that we left the decision to attend the biggest blogger meet up right until the very end. Once we reserved our tickets, we were well and truly on our way to get our brand out there for the first time EVER! 2017 SA BLOGGERS AWARD

I am thrilled to announce that TravelBucket, with its first-time entry, made it as a Runner Up in the Environmental Category in the SA Bloggers Awards!! Thank you to my travel buddies for all the inspiration and making memories with me.
